Michael Aram furniture is handcrafted, with no two pieces ever alike. Each Bar Cart undergoes a series of casting, filing, welding, and oxidation techniques. The finish is a result of a specialized patination process. The variations in texture and color are inherent to the handmade process, ensuring that each piece is a beautiful and unique work of art.
The Bar Cart design is inspired by Michael's love of functional art and ancient craftsmanship. The cart has a clean and modern feeling to it and is made using traditional hand forging techniques, making it the perfect addition to any room.
To me, there is something magical about celebrating the handmade process and creating highly interpretive pieces that add a lasting sense of art and function to a room.

Michael is highly inspired by his surroundings and often makes sculptures of objects that might otherwise be overlooked in the everyday. Nature is his biggest muse, as is the handmade process.

MICHAEL IS HIGHLY INSPIRED BY HIS SURROUNDINGS AND OFTEN MAKES SCULPTURES OF OBJECTS THAT MIGHT OTHERWISE BE OVERLOOKED IN THE EVERYDAY. NATURE IS HIS BIGGEST MUSE, AS IS THE HANDMADE PROCESS.
Trained as a painter, sculptor, and art historian, Michael has neatly applied his diverse background to the decorative arts.
Nature is his biggest muse, as is the handmade process. His work combines the imperfections innate in the handmade process.
Today, over 200 artisans work alongside him in his workshop where the same creative interaction between artist and artisan remains.
